The Organic Chemistry Peer Tutoring Department strives to provide FREE high-quality tutoring to students taking the 51A-B-C Organic Chemistry series as well as 51LB and 51LC Every week, tutors provide worksheets and hold office hours tailored for the class they are. вЂњAfter consistently attending SI sessions I had a better understanding of course materials, which helped me improve my grades on tests and quizzes. Program assessment over 5 years demonstrates that participation in Supplemental Instruction supports students in obtaining a half letter grade higher than peers not participating in the program. 5,298 students participated in and contributed to a total of 51,190 visits.In 2020 - 2021, the SI Program supported: SI sessions are facilitated by Peer Leaders who have successfully completed the course at UC San Diego and are trained in facilitating sessions to engage students in active problem-solving and discussion.SI supports courses in Biology, Chemistry, Data Science, Economics, Math, Management Science, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Engineering, and Statistics. The SI program gives students an environment to engage with, ask questions, and review lecture material with their peers.
